Men’s League 2025/2026 Golf Season Kickoff Announcement

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

I hope that everyone had a great summer. I know that many of you have already started making plans to return to Mexico this Fall. Congratulations to the 40+ golfers that made it to Kelowna, British Columbia this September, to participate in the maiden Northern Tour golf event coordinated by Alan Bayliss and friends that consisted of three days of golf, wine tours, Welcome reception at Rod Robinson’s place, sunset boating tour and many fabulous meals. The event was a huge success and very much appreciated by all attendees. Many thanks to Alan and his assistants (Ken Wither, Rod Robinson, Colin Rasmussen) for coordinating the event. Thanks also to Steve and Michele Johnson for travelling to Kelowna to participate in the event.

I have been in touch with Steve, and we are all set to kick off our Fall Men’s League golf season. We have scheduled two pre-season Men’s League golf events, similar to last year, that will take place on Wednesday, October 22nd and Wednesday, October 29th. The sign-up calendar has been updated to include these dates, and you can sign up now. Our official season starts on Wednesday, November 5th and you will be able to sign up for this date, tomorrow. Please remember, that like last year, you will be able to sign up for any Men’s League golf event exactly 28 days prior to the start of the golf event and this is a rolling schedule that is updated every day.

I will send out another post on the weekend before our first golf event (Wednesday, October 22nd) to provide everyone with an update concerning the game that we will be playing on October 22nd.

Best regards,

Markus

Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, May 14th, 2025

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

For the last Men’s League event of the season, we will be playing a two-person Scramble team game. Normal scramble rules will apply and each team will need to use a minimum of 6 tee shots from each player.  Only one “gross” score will need to be entered for each hole and each team will need to provide team summary scores for the first nine holes, the second nine holes and the 18-hole total. For example – “34 – 33 – 67”.

Please make sure that you circle any player on your team that had a gross birdie (“2”) on any of the Par 3 holes. Lastly, make sure that you repair any of your divots and also rake out any bunker that you may have entered.

Please note that Petr Holcak and Charles King will serve as co-organizers for Wednesday’s event and they may decide to modify the game depending on the final number of players that participate (as of Sunday, May 11th we have 13 players signed up).

Good luck to all golfers!

Markus

Men’s Mixer – Wednesday May 7th, 2025

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a two-person best ball team game, like last week, due to the limited number of players that we have signed up. Only one best ball team score will be required for each hole. Please enter both the gross and the net score for each player on each hole and also provide team summary scores for the first nine holes, the second nine holes and the 18-hole total. For example – “34 – 33 – 67”.

Please make sure that you circle any player on your team that had a gross birdie (“2”) on any of the Par 3 holes. Lastly, make sure that you repair any of your divots and also rake out any bunker that you may have entered.

Please note that the May calendar has been updated to include Men’s League play for the first two Wednesdays in May. Also, per recent announcement, Men’s League play on May 7th will start at 8:00 AM, (not the normal 9:00 AM start), so make sure that you arrive an hour earlier on that day.

Good luck to all golfers!

Markus

Men’s Mixer – April 23rd, 2025

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a four-person “Scramble” team game. All team members will play from the tee boxes (gold, gold-white, white, or white-blue) that they normally play from. Each team will also need to use a minimum of three tee shots for the round.

You will only need to record one gross score for each hole, with a team summary score for the front nine, the back nine and the 18-hole total score.

Please make sure that you circle any player on your team that had a gross birdie (“2”) on any of the Par 3 holes. Lastly, make sure that you repair any of your divots and also rake out any bunker that you may have entered.

Good luck to all golfers!
