Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, February 1st, 2023

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a two-person team game using Nassau scoring/payouts. All two-person teams will only need to use one best ball net score for each hole. Please provide gross and net scores for all players on your team and also provide team summary scores for the front nine, the back nine and the total 18-hole score. Lastly, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots and rake out any bunkers.

Please arrive early and make sure you have updated your February calendar:  Since we now have a high number of players, it is highly recommended that all players arrive no later than 8:30 and be prepared to go out by 8:45 AM.

Gringo Classic Event: Also, if you have not already done so, please make sure that you sign up to play in the Gringo Classic event, that will be played on Tuesday, February 28th and Wednesday, March 1st. A recent post was sent out by Alan Bayliss that provides all the details concerning this much cherished annual event.

Managing your calendar

As you all may know, tee times availability is very limited at this time of the year.
For many days before Friday, all 24 spots for Friday’s Skins Game were reserved.
On Thursday, 3 players cancelled and on Friday three others cancelled.
Result: there were 6 unused spots. 6 more players could have played.
It would be nice if every player could manage his calendar and cancel as early as possible.
Cancelling late or worse not canceling before game’s eve prevents players from playing.
Please manage your golf calendar responsibly.

Ladies League-Friday, January 27, 2023

This week the game is a 2-LADY TEAM.  All teams will need to use 1 Best Ball Low Net score for all holes.  High handicap players will use 40% of their handicap and Low handicap players will use 60% of their handicap.  Please provide gross and net scores for all players on your team and also provide team summary scores for both front 9 and back 9 and total 18-Hole score.  Game is $50 pesos and the Skills are $20 pesos.  Correct change is appreciated.  Please remember to repair your divots and rake out any bunkers.

Again for those who would like to try and improve their game, Hector will be providing a weekly golf tip at 8:45 a.m. This will be followed by the names of your cart mates and your starting hole number.  Shotgun start @ 9:00 a.m. sharp.

PLEASE NOTE:  We have a high number of players again this week and strongly recommend all players arrive earlier than your normal arrival time and be prepared to be on your assigned Hole at 8:55 a.m.

If you wish to play, please be sure to UPDATE your calendar and “SAVE” the changes BEFORE Thursday, January 26th @ 3:00 p.m.  This is the cut-off period and NO changes will be permitted after this time.  And off course, should you choose not play and have registered in the past for the date specified above, again please CANCELto update your calendar and “SAVE” the changes before Thursdays’ deadline.  This will greatly assist those of us who organize the weekly games.

REMINDER:  TORNEO DE GEMAS LADIES GOLF TOURNAMENT—If you wish to play and have not already done so, please make sure that you register for this tournament scheduled for Friday, March 17, 2023.  Further details regarding this tournament will be provided once same becomes available.

This Wednesday we will be playing a four-person “reverse waltz” team game where all teams will need to use three best ball net scores on hole 1, two best ball net scores on hole 2 and only one best ball net score on hole 3 and this pattern will continue throughout the remaining holes. Please provide gross and net scores for all players on your team and also provide team summary scores for the front nine, the back nine and the total 18-hole score. Lastly, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots and rake out any bunkers.

Couples golf Sunday January 22nd

Hola todos,

We’ll keep it simple this week since we are a big group again.  So we’ll simply play in themes of four using two best balls net per hole.

The maximum handicap is 36, tee time is at 10:00 and the cost per couple is 100 pesos.
