Hi Ladies,

This week we will be playing a 4 person team game. 1 Best Ball Net on par 5’s, 2 Best Ball Net on par 4’s, 3 Best Ball Net on par 3’s. Simply enter your gross scores into the Golf Genius screen, it will figure out your team’s net score per hole. NO MATH! Please let me know when you come in who got birdies and on which holes.

For the first week try to get to your cart a little earlier so Steve can explain the Golf Genius system.

Lastly, remember to rake the bunkers, repair your divots, keep up with the group ahead of you and most importantly….

Notes:
– If you end up in a group of 3 players: For all Best Ball Net (BBN) formats, we will use Pepe as your 4th player. Pepe always shoots a par and doesn’t get any strokes. For Scrambles, we will rotate hitting the 4th shot from tee to hole. In other words, Player 1 plays 2 balls on hole 1, Player 2 plays 2 balls on hole 2, and Player 3 hits 2 balls on hole 3. Stay in this same rotation through the 18th hole.
– KP – Tee shot closest to the hole wins. MUST be on the green to be considered.
– Longest Putt – Only counts for 1st putt from the green. Balls from the fairway, sand, or fringe are chip-ins.

If you are a returning player, welcome back. If you are new or thinking about being new, we are glad you are here.The goal of our El Tigre Ladies League is truly to play good golf, see old friends, make new ones – and most importantly, to do all those things in a fun, safe, nice-to-each other environment.

THE SCHEDULE:

We play every Friday morning between Mid-November and Mid-April. We tee off exactly at 8:59 AM and no late tee offs are allowed. We will have a quick huddle at 8:45 AM to go over that week’s game, the teams, your questions, etc. Each week will also include a pre-round bonus “Quick Tips” lesson with Head Pro Hector Rodriquez. These will begin at 8:35 AM.

NEW PLAYERS – To register in the system – please go to eltigreleagues.com and use the “LOG IN” screen and click the “REGISTER” button to get started, Once you are registered, you then need to go to the “MY CALENDAR” tab and choose “LEAGUES” and then check the “Women’s League” checkbox. You are now ready to schedule your weekly participation (see below). Help for this process can also be found under the “FAQ’s” tab. (Still have questions or concerns? Please note that every player must have a handicap in the system. Please enter yours by clicking on the ‘MY HANDICAP” tab off the opening page of the eltigreleagues site. Enter (at a minimum) your last three scores. For league play, handicaps will be capped at 36.

SIGN-UP (ALL PLAYERS) – Please sign up for each week you want to play using the “MY CALENDAR” tab on the eltigreleagues.com website (Note: this site uses a rolling four weeks calendar – we have room for just 44 players so please get in early)

You must sign-up no later than 3:00 PM on the Thursday before Friday Ladies League. This allows the system time to create randomized teams and schedule our shotgun start. With this in mind, no late entrees can be received, and cancellations after the Thursday 3 PM deadline are strongly discouraged (save emergencies etc.). As the system will be solely responsible for team creation, there can be no changes or alterations to team assignments. This should ensure everyone gets to play with a wide variety of cart mates and that each week’s game is as fair as possible.

To help keep everyone on track, once you have scheduled your league participation, the system will send you an advance email linking you to information about each week’s upcoming Friday game and any other special notes of interest.

FEES – It is just $100 Pesos per week to play (exact change please)

PRIZES – Let’s face it, we all love prizes, And every Friday will offer a good chance to win one. With cash and/or gits awarded for game winners, skills, 50/50 raffles, etc.

RULES FOR PLAY – We will play by the Rules of Golf, with the following exceptions

Players are allowed to lift, clean, and place their ball within one scorecard length of its original position
Players who find their ball in a footprint or groove in a sand trap may lift, rake, and replace their ball in its original position.
To speed play, players’ balls need not be played into the cup under two conditions:
– If the ball is “in the leather,” meaning it is closer to the hole than the distance from putter head to the near edge of the putter’s grip, the putt can be conceded (except if it is for a Birdie or better).

– If the player’s ball is not going to count toward the team’s score for that hole.

AND finally – As you would expect, our league prides itself on really caring for our course by repairing ball marks, and filling divots. While also keeping our eye on a brisk pace of play by being ready to hit the next shot, and keeping up with the group ahead of us.

The course is in wonderful shape, the starters are readying our bags, the wait staff is rattling ice cubes in cocktail glasses…

League play begins Friday November 14th and we have a great game

to kickoff the season!

We will be playing in four-person teams whereby each team will record one best ball net score for all Par 5’s, two best ball net scores for all Par 4’s, and 3 best ball net scores for all Par 3’s (watch this space for the full year’s lineup of games and events – coming soon).

New this year:
We will be using the golf cart screen to record our scores. All pairings and handicaps will be pre-loaded in the carts when you arrive (please be sure to update your handicap before the season commences). Using the screen will also allow us to follow along with the progress of the other groups through the “Leaderboard” function – which should make the competition even more lively,

Also new this year, each game’s teams will be fully randomized. This move should give everyone the best chance of meeting and playing with more people. 🙂
