The String Game

We will be playing a new game this week. You will count 2 best balls for a 4 person team.

Instead of handicaps you will each be given a length of string equal to your handicap ( e.g. 21 handicap gets 21 feet of string)

Moving the ball: Before taking a stroke, a player may move their ball to improve their lie – such as out of a bunker, from behind a tree, up against a the edge of a waste bunker, or from the point of entry with a water ball. 

Cutting the string: After moving the ball, cut the length of string equivalent to the distance the ball was moved. You will not count this move as a stroke. Choose wisely, once you’re out of string, you’re on your own.

On the green: String may be used to hole out a putt. If the ball is 9 inches from the hole a player may cut off 9 inches of string and count the ball as holed out. The decision to use the string to hole out a putt must be made before the putt is attempted.

Since this is a 2 best ball game, strategize as a team for hole’s in one and birdies.

Threesome’s will use Mia, she always gets a par and gets no string.

Please bring a pair of scissors to cut your string.

This week we will be playing a 4 person team game. 3 Best Ball Net on par 5’s, 2 Best Ball Net on par 4’s, 1 Best Ball Net on par 3’s. Simply enter your gross scores into the Golf Genius screen, it will figure out your team’s net score per hole. Also, Fill out the scorecard in your cart . For those in your group that don’t know how to keep score yet, please have them keep the card and help them as you go along.

Lastly, remember to rake the bunkers, repair your divots, keep up with the group ahead of you and most importantly….

Hi Ladies,

We will be having our final scramble on Friday. Everyone will tee off and your team will choose the best ball for their next shot.  Do this all the way into the hole. There are no gimme’s in a scramble format. The only requirement is that you use at minimum  2 tee shots from everyone in your group.

I have extended the league schedule by 1 week to make up for the day we missed for the club championship. I am going to try a new game so be sure to signup for April 17th.

This week we will be playing a 4 person team game. Everyone plays their own ball, you will count the 1 BB Net on the odd holes and 2 BB net on the even holes.

KP on 17, Longest Putt on 4, and Chip in on 14

Hector is retiring at the end of March. I thought it would be nice to take a collection to thank him for all his help with our mini lessons over the years.

We will be playing a 4 person modified 2 Best Ball Net format

You will only have to count the 2 best par 3’s, 2 best par 5’s, and 5 best par 4’s for your team score.

As usual please mark your pink card gross over net for all players, then record your team score for each hole. Once the round is finished find the best team scores for the designated holes. Please ONLY  CIRCLE GROSS BIRDIES.
