Men’s League Announcements – Friday, January 12th, 2024
Hola El Tigre Golfers,
There are two announcements that I have been asked to pass on to the Men’s League members, including:
1 – Tim Janeway reported that he was missing his Ping 5 wood (club and cover) first discovered after our round last Wednesday. The club and cover may have mistakenly been placed in someone else’s golf bag. Please reply to this post if you find the club.
2 – Ron Volk reported that he tested positive for Covid yesterday morning and he asked that I let the members know of his situation. Thank you, Ron, for sharing this unfortunate news and we wish you a speedy recovery.

Sunday January 14th
Hola todos,
This week we’re playing a strategy game played in teams of four and using 3 bb net per hole.
9 holes will count, using 2 par 5’s , 4 par 4’s and 3 par 3’s. You must decide, right after a whole is completed, if you will use that score or not.
As usual, shot gun is at 10:00, the cost is 100 pesos per couple and the maximum handicap allowed is 36.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday
Francine and Michel
Gimme putt rule
Over the past few weeks, there has been some controversy and discussion about gimme putts.
Until now, gimme putts are allowed if putt length is within the leather grip.
On Monday after the game, we had a discussion about gimme putts. We have examined some proposals for a new rule.
After discussion we decide to adopt a new rule for gimme.
All putts for a score counting on the card must be holed.
If a putt could possibly count for a skins or improve team score, it must be done.
We are all aware that we are team-mates in the foursome, but the honesty and fairness for all must prevail.
It is useful to remember that in the PGA and RCGA rules, there is no gimme.
We are not the only group having discussion over gimme. Take a look at this article from PGA website.
