Hola El Tigre Golfers,
This Wednesday we will be playing a two-person best ball Nassau game. Each two-person team will need to count only one net best ball on all holes. Please record the “net” team score for each hole and provide summary scores for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Also, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots.
Gringo Classic Update: Please review the post that was published yesterday from Alan Bayliss concerning the Gingo Classic event that will take place on February 16th and February 17th. Alan’s post provides an update concerning the format of the event and what you need to do to get registered to participate in the event. The normal Men’s League event scheduled for Wednesday, February 16th will be cancelled in lieu of the Gingo Classic and the calendar has been updated accordingly.
Reminder: Men’s League guidelines concerning unvaccinated players: The following agreement was reached by the Men’s League members: If you are unvaccinated, you need to let Markus know of your status by sending him a private email (markusgmelin@gmail.com) that will be kept confidential. For all other players, if you do not want to be paired with an unvaccinated player, you need to let Markus know of your request by sending him a private email that will also be kept confidential. Based on this information, Markus will be able to modify any of the computer-generated pairings to make sure that everyone’s wishes are honored. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Good luck to all players!
Markus
Hola El Tigre Golfers,
This Wednesday we will be playing a four-person “red-white-blue” game. Each team will need to count one net best ball on all holes with red flags, two net best balls on all holes with white flags, and three net best balls on all holes with blue flags. Please record the “net” team score for each hole and provide summary scores for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Also, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots.

Hola El Tigre Golfers,
This Wednesday we will be playing a two-person scramble team game. After both players play their tee shot, they will decide which ball they will play for their second shot and each player will then play the ball from that position. After the second shot is played, the team will once again decide which ball to play for their next shot. This process will then be followed until the team completes the hole. Two additional caveats. Each team will need to use at least four tee shots from each player. Also, for team scoring purposes you will need to use 50% of the combined handicaps of the two players based on their normal handicap from the set of tees that they are playing from. For example, Player A has a 10 handicap from the White tees. Player B has a 20 handicap from the Gold tees. Their combined handicap for scoring purposes will be a 15 (50 % of 30). Please record the “net” team score for each hole and provide summary scores for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Also, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots.

Note: Our membership database does not identify nationality, so I cannot send this to only American players. Canadians can simply disregard, with my apologies.
Signups for the Gringo Classic are showing the usual trend, with 17 Canadians and 9 Americans signed up to date, and we’d like to have equal numbers. We may have opportunities to recruit non-members from the States to come down and play, but I don’t want to do so until I know how many American members intend to sign up. So although you have until January 21st to sign up, I would encourage you to do so sooner than later. The later we wait to begin trying to recruit non-members to play, the harder it will be.
Signing up requires two actions. You need to sign up on the website calendar, just as you normally do for our league events, and you must pay in the golf shop ($1000 pesos for members, $3000 pesos for non-members). Please sign up on the calendar ASAP; you can pay any time prior to the event on February 16th.
As Alan Bayliss explained before, here are the steps necessary to sign up on the calendar:
Thanks for your help, and let me know if you have problems signing up.
