Friday December, 12th

Friday’s game will be a 4 person 2 Best Ball Net.

I was told the Golf Genius is now working for the ladies so please use the screen scoring. Just enter your gross score, they will figure out your team score. In addition, please fill and hand in the pink scorecard. Gross over net, totals for front, back and 18. Praying that the screens and pink cards match this week. Circle all your GROSS birdies, please DO NOT circle your net birdies, it makes it more difficult for the people checking the cards. All gross birdies must putt out, no gimme’s.

Remember, we are using a net double bogie max for scoring purposes.

If there is someone in your foursome that does not know how to keep score, please help them. We are trying to get to the point where everyone can keep a proper scorecard.

And finally, please don’t forget to see Debbie Graham today to make your contribution to the golf staff Christmas gift. They do so much for us and this token of our appreciation goes a very long way toward brightening their season.

Have fun out there

December 5th Scramble

Hi Ladies,

We will be having our first of many fun scrambles on Friday. Everyone will tee off and your team will choose the best ball for their next shot.  Do this all the way into the hole. The only requirement is that you use at minimum  2 tee shots from everyone in your group.

Note: We are again participating in the annual El Tigre Christmas collection for the golf staff. Groundskeepers , maintenance, front desk ladies, wait staff, kitchen staff, drink cart ladies, and of course our dear starters. Our donation will serve to cover over 80 people. Please see Debbie Graham, and please give in the spirit of the season!

Will will be using Golf Genius and a handwritten scorecard, please help those that aren’t familiar with either system so they can get up to speed.

Hector will give a lesson at 8:30am, be ready to tee off by 8:55am

Repair your divots, rake the bunkers, please turn off your phones, and keep up with the group ahead of you.

Have fun out there.

Correction on Net Double Bogie

My apologies, I gave you the wrong information when explaining net double bogie. Let me try again.

Par 3: if you don’t get a stroke you max is 5, 1 stroke your max is 6, 2 strokes your max is 7

Par 4: 0 strokes your max is 6, 1 stroke your max is 7, 2 strokes your max is 8

Par 5: 0 strokes your max is 7, 1 stroke your max is 8, 2 strokes your max is 9

sorry for the confusion

Friday, November 21st

Hi Ladies, thank you for your patience last week as we try to navigate the new scoring system. For those that left before the winners were announced, give a big congratulations to two teams that tied for 2nd place with a score of -10 winning $700 per team,  Debbie, Diane G, Anna and Lawana, and  Penny-Claire, Mary Kay, Franky and Tracy.

First place with a score of -15 went to Myra, Lou Lou, Nella and Judy for $2000.

We have kicked Pepe out of the ladies league, we have recruited Mia to play with groups of 3.

This week’s game will be a 4 person team 1 Best Ball Net – Stableford format

Skills:

KP on hole 6 – your tee shot must be ON the green to be in the running.

Longest Putt on hole 16 – putt must be made on your 1st putt from the green, balls from the fairway, sand, or fringe are chip-ins.

Chip in on hole 5

A stableford format works as follows: Net bogie = 1 point, Net par = 2 points, Net birdie = 3 points….

We are trying to use the electronic scoring system, until we work out the bugs we will have to fill out a physical card in addition to using the screen. Please help those in your group that aren’t familiar with keeping score. You must put your gross over net on the score card, and circle any gross birdies, everyone should be able to score their own card by the end of the round. For the Golf Genius system, just enter everyone’s gross score, the system will factor in your handicap to (hopefully) come up with the team score for that hole.

Gimme’s will be used to speed up the pace of play. If you are putting for a birdie you must putt the ball.

We have voted to use net double bogie as our maximum score. Ex: you get 2 strokes on a par 4, 8 would be your max. 8 – your 2 strokes = 6 which is a net double bogie on a par 4. If this is confusing to you please ask someone in your foursome to help you.

Please be there by 8:30 for Hector’s lesson of the day. Exact change ($100) is gratefully appreciated.

Friendly reminders: Repair your divots in the fairways, repair your ball marks on the greens, and rake out the bunkers. Turn your phones off, play ready golf, and keep up with the group ahead of you.

But most importantly have fun with your foursome.
