LADIES LEAGUE – Friday, March 10, 2023

This Friday we will play a 2-LADY TEAM BEST BALL LOW NET format Teams will need to record One Best Ball Low Net Score per hole.  Game is $50 pesos and the Skills are $20 pesos.  Correct change is greatly appreciated.  Please remember to repair all your divots & rake out any bunkers.

Again, for those who would like to try & improve their game, Hector will be providing a weekly golf tip at 8:45 a.m. This will be followed by the names of your cart mates & your starting hole number.  Shotgun start @ 9:00 a.m. sharp.

AGAIN PLEASE NOTE:  Once again we have a high number of players registered for this week & we are asking that all players please make every effort to arrive early & be prepared to be on your assigned Hole at 8:55 a.m.
 UPON ARRIVAL PLEASE REGISTER AND PAY YOUR FEES BEFORE PRACTICING OR SOCIALIZING.

If you wish to play, please be sure to UPDATE your calendar and SAVE the changes BEFORE Thursday, March 9th @ 3:00 p.m. This is the cut-off period and NO changes will be permitted after this time.  And off course, should you choose not play and have registered in the past for the date specified above, again please CANCEL to update your calendar and SAVE the changes before Thursdays’ deadline.  This will greatly assist those of us who organize the weekly games.

Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, March 8th, 2023

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a two-person “Stableford” team game where all teams will need to use two best ball net scores for all holes. Points are awarded based on the following criteria: 1 point for a net bogey, 2 points for a net par, 3 points for a net birdie, 5 points for a net eagle and 7 points for a net double eagle. Please provide gross and net scores for all players on your team and also provide team summary scores for the front nine, the back nine and the total 18-hole score. Also, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots and rake out any bunkers.

Congratulations for Team “International” for winning the 2023 Gringo Classic event. Many thanks to Alan Bayliss, the team captains, Steve Johnson and Hector for all of their hard work in organizing the event and ensuring a very successful and fun event for all participants.

Lastly, please make sure that you have updated your March calendar.

Torneo de Gemas- Secure Your Spot!!!!!!

A reminder that your deposit and meal selection must be done in the Pro Shop by March 5 to secure your spot in the March 17  Torneo de Gemas.
As previously communicated:
 

The cost of the tournament will be $300 pesos per person.  payable as follows:

A deposit of $200 pesos is required to secure your spot in the tournament. This deposit will cover the cost of your meal (including tax and gratuity).   Your deposit is required by Sunday, March 5 and can be paid at the Pro Shop.  Please indicate your payment as “registration for Torneo de Gemas”.

Please provide the staff your meal preference:

  1. Chef Salad
  2. French Dip with French Fries
  3. Shrimp Stuffed Avocado

*please make the organizing committee aware of any allergy concerns

Many thanks to all of those ladies who have provided a donation to date.  If you have a donation for the prize table please see a member of the organizing committee.

Information regarding teams will be provided once we have finalized the player list with the secured deposit.

Couples golf Sunday March 5th

Hola todos,

This week we’re trying someting new.  We play in teams of four and On each hole we eliminate the best and worst net  scores, using only the 2 middle net scores.

We start at 10:00, the cost is a 100 pesos per couples and the maximum handicap is 36.

Congratulations to to Team Inernational.

I would like to thank the captains for the many hours put into helping make this years event the success. It was Team International, Jack Gindi, and Ron Volk, and for Team Canada Tim Steele and Brandon Morrice.

As well I would like to thank Gérard Grégoire for his great work with the pairing announcements, and Myles McDonald for his fabulous selling skills with the 50/50 (well at least I know 2 people are very happy, Don Morrow and Dwain White congratulations on the big haul)

I would also like to congratulate our Horse Race winner Senior Otto and David Pollick and runner ups Claude Perrault and Peter Vitols.

A special thank you needs to go to Steve, Hector, Cesar and the rest of the entire staff. Great job as always.

Preparations are already under way for next years event which will be Tuesday Feb 27, and Wednesday Feb 28 2024. Further info coming soon.
