We’ll play the flag game this Sunday, in teams of four, using 3 bb net on red flags, 1 on the whites and 2 on the blues.
Teeing off at 10:00, as usual and cost per couple is a 100 pesos.

Hola El Tigre Golfers,
During today’s Men’s League event we provided an update to all players that we would be having a special memorial event in honor of Derek Pepper. After our golf game today, I met with Steve Johnson, Bev Pepper and Petr Holcak to discuss and coordinate plans for this event. We agreed on the following:
Derek’s Memorial event will take place next Wednesday at 1:30 PM, immediately following our Men’s League golf game and it will take place at Bev Pepper’s house that is located at 136 Calle Venados (the house is located on the 11th hole of the golf course). Steve will make arrangements with his staff to serve light appetizers and refreshments (beer and wine) and we will also conduct our normal post-golf payouts at that time. We will then have a special tree planting and memorial plaque ceremony (on the golf course) that will be dedicated to Derek. Any attendee that would like to speak at the event will be provided an opportunity to do so. We also agreed to establish a fund in Derek’s name that will be used to provide free golf lessons by Hector in support of underprivileged youth members living in the surrounding communities. On a final note we agreed to have a special annual Men’s League golf tournament event that would be dedicated to our dear friend and fellow golfer. If anyone is interested in making a contribution in honor of Derek, we would encourage them to see or contact Steve Johnson’s Administrative Assistant, Isaura Ponce (her office is located next to Steve’s office in the El Tigre Golf Club).

This week the format will be 4-Lady Team with the best 2 Low Nets. The game is $50 pesos and the Skills are $20 pesos. If you plan to play please register and be sure to “save” your changes. Game time will be a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Please be there by 9:15 a.m. to receive game instructions and your starting hole.

This Wednesday we will be a playing four-person team game where all teams will need to count only one best ball net score for all par 3’s, two best ball net scores on all par 4’s and three best ball net scores on all par 5’s. Please record both gross and net scores for all team players and provide team score summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Also, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots.
Announcement Concerning the Passing of Derek Pepper – We were all very saddened to learn last week that our good friend and fellow golfer, Derek Pepper passed after battling a lengthy illness. He will be very much missed by all of us. We are currently working with El Tigre Golf Course management to develop an appropriate course of action to recognize Derek’s many longstanding contributions to the El Tigre community. We will provide you with additional updates in the near future.
Reminder: Men’s League guidelines concerning unvaccinated players: The following agreement was reached by the Men’s League members: If you are unvaccinated, you need to let Markus know of your status by sending him a private email (markusgmelin@gmail.com) that will be kept confidential. For all other players, if you do not want to be paired with an unvaccinated player, you need to let Markus know of your request by sending him a private email that will also be kept confidential. Based on this information, Markus will be able to modify any of the computer-generated pairings to make sure that everyone’s wishes are honored. Thank you for your support and understanding.
