Welcome All El Tigre Golfers,

The game for this upcoming Wednesday will be Nassau, where winning teams will be paid based on the following criteria; best team “net” front 9 score (1-9), best team “net” back nine score (10 – 18) and best team “net” overall score (1 – 18). Please record both gross and net scores for all players on every hole, and provide net team scoring summaries for the front nine, the back nine and for overall score. Also, please remember to circle any “deuces” on the scorecard. Lastly, please remember to repair divot holes,  ball marks and smooth any footprints in bunkers.

Thank you and good luck to everyone!

2019 Gringo Classic Players Eligibility

The Gringo Classic

In the beginning the spirit of the Gringo Classic was to bring together people for a couple days of good old fun, golf, and spirited rivalry. It was hoped in the beginning that it might attract more of the Mexican golfers that are eligible to participate. The Gringo Classic was never intended to be a members only tournament, as we already have two of these tournaments every year. To make sure that we had enough players for the event, the players from the El Tigre men’s league were invited to sign up first.

There has been many suggestions put forth to the organizing committee, concerning who should be eligible to play, and whether there should be a Canada vs USA format. The five statements below will be the standard for the 2019 and future Gringo Classic tournaments.

1. Men’s League members will be given preference to play.

2. Guests of members that are returning to play in the GC will be
slotted after members have signed up.

3. If space is available, new guests of members that have never played
in the GC will be slotted.

4. If in the future, players with professional status would like to
play, they will play from the black tee’s with handicap calculated
according to their index.

5. The Canada vs USA format will be the standard.

Gringo Classic Organizing Committee

ElTigre Golfers,

A cool but pleasant day in Nuevo. The game for this week will be the 3-2-1 game. Teams will record their 3 best net balls on holes 1-6, their best net 2 balls on holes 7-12, and their best net ball on holes 13-18.

Larry Klaus will be collecting your 100 peso’s this week. Thank you Larry.

Pace of play may be somewhat longer than usual as we are including Match Play in the Wednesday play. If you max your shots allowable for handicap purpose, please pick up. Please try and keep up the pace of play, as it is more enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you all for keeping the course in good shape by filling in divots and repairing ball marks on the greens.

Also, Mens League will run through the holidays for those that want to play.

Until Wednesday,
